About setting up email with us.

Here is the connection information for your new mailbox. You will use this to set up a new account, or mailbox, in your email client. The menus you use to do this will be slightly different depending on what you use to read mail (Thunderbird, Apple Mail, iOS Mail, etc) but the same information is required in all of them. Just enter each piece slowly and carefully.

If something goes wrong, you can just delete the account and try setting it up again.

You will be setting up this new mailbox along side of your active Lightlink box. We will test by emailing back and forth to yourname@virtualithaca.com

Once we are sure that works, we will continue to the next step.

Port: 993
Secure connection Select: Required and SSL
Type of authentication: PLAIN
Incoming username: yourname@virtualithaca.com
Incoming password: Your password
Incoming server: imap.mail.us-east-1.awsapps.com


To send email, you also need to configure an outgoing SMTP server in your IMAP-compatible software.

Protocol: SMTPS (SMTP, encrypted with TLS)
Port: 465
Secure connection Select: Required and SSL
STARTTLS is not currently supported by Amazon WorkMail
